🖋 According to an investigation by The Insider, Russia has created a highly secretive special-services unit known as “Center 795.”

The publication alleges that the structure was established after the beginning of Russia’s war against Ukraine to conduct covert operations abroad, including the abduction and killing of opponents of the Russian authorities.

According to The Insider, one alleged officer of the center has already been arrested in Colombia on accusations of preparing to abduct or kill opponents of Vladimir Putin.

🖋 Ukrainian developers have unveiled the TRACER airborne electronic-reconnaissance system, designed to detect ground-based sources of radio-frequency emissions.

The system’s unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) can detect electronic-warfare equipment, radar stations, FPV-drone and DJI Mavic controllers, as well as Wi-Fi bridges used for data transmission.

Because TRACER operates passively, it emits no search signals and remains practically undetectable while searching for targets.

🖋 Telesat (Canada) has signed the largest contract in its history, an agreement worth approximately $1.63 billion to provide the Canadian Armed Forces with secure satellite communications across the Arctic and finance a substantial expansion of the Lightspeed low Earth orbit constellation.

The agreement with Canada’s Defence Investment Agency covers military Ka-band services beginning in 2028.

It also includes two five-year extension options valued at approximately $142 million each. If exercised, they would increase the total contract value to about $1.92 billion and extend the service period to 15 years.

🖋 Baykar’s (Türkiye) Bayraktar Kizilelma unmanned combat aircraft has conducted its first live-fire tests using the internal weapons bay, engaging ground targets with precision-guided munitions.

The trial, conducted in Çorlu with the serial-production S2 model, saw the aircraft release a Roketsan (Türkiye) TEBER-82 guided bomb and an ASELSAN (Türkiye) TOLUN glide bomb from inside the fuselage.

🖋 Researchers linked to Chinese military institutions have used outputs from leading artificial intelligence (AI) models developed by the U.S. companies OpenAI and Anthropic to train specialised domestic systems and advance China’s defence capabilities.

The findings come from a Reuters review of more than 80 Chinese academic papers and patents. The documents show how Chinese military and security-linked institutions are using advanced American AI models as a shortcut to developing systems of their own, despite Washington’s efforts to restrict Beijing’s access to advanced chips and other strategic technologies.
