As someone who recently moved from SF to NYC, I'm having a real hard time not giving Dude-From-Minnesota-Telling-Everyone, "You call this snow? This is a light dusting!" energy about this wildfire smoke.
Here’s a tip for staying on top of everything: use the swipe menu to mark each of your emails as read, without opening them, reading them or responding to them. Then drift off to sleep knowing you’re now an effective leader with a thriving Inbox 0 habit.

In case you still think millennials can't afford a house because they buy avocados: my mom found a $50 savings bond that I got in 1995. After 28 years, the savings bond is now worth $56.52. It accrued less than $10 in interest in nearly 30 years. 😐
@henry_daggett Yep! I definitely don't think we need to be trying to "Surprise" and/or "Delight" people reading design system documentation. But, I also think it's helpful and reasonable to use the same voice to give advice in systems office hours, as you do in written documentation.
The way Slack shows everyone the words I used to find the gif I sent is so deeply embarrassing. Everyone knows what an imposter I am when they see a search query like "hello funny professional"
If you're tryna get your man to leave you, sit down next to him while he looks at James Webb photos and just keep repeating, "I don't get it. Looks like stars to me. I can see those just by looking up. What's the big deal? Seems lame."
One thing I've learned working in tech is that every shit product experience you've had is a result of someone in a meeting nodding their head instead of saying, "Buddy, I'm gonna keep it real. I got no idea what the fuck you're talking about"
The Little Rock 9 were the first 9 black students to desegregate a high school. The Greensboro 4 were 4 black men who staged a sit-in at a segregated lunch counter. And, I swear, I just saw people on LinkedIn calling themselves the Coinbase18 so I may need to leave tech now
Moving to NY from SF is the best 'cause I met a new friend for a drink last night and in her best attempt to relate to me she said, "I heard a woman named Sheryl is leaving Facebook, what's that about?"
@schwa23 I don't think you'll ever know how much your kindness, feedback, help and confidence in me was absolutely transformative to my career. I can't wait to hang out again –– hopefully the new gig has an NY office you'll need to visit =]
When people try to impress you with internalized capitalism with messages like: "Lol, can't remember the last time I had a lunch break or stopped work before 7."
It's fun to respond with: "Yikes, might be time to improve your prioritization skills. Let me know if I can help!"
