Another nursing student and I decided to discuss social media and the impacts it has had on our lives, looking at the positives and negatives. @punc18verity
https://t.co/uZtbAdQnzU this links goes to a page discusing smoking which is something people should be educated about. when reading the information you can see references which show that it has evidence and research behind it. #PUNC18
https://t.co/gWQ0gvl38j I believe that is video has helped educate people and provide them with an example with how useful social media is as the videos itself is social media but also educating about the importance of the software that they use #PUNC18
By looking at professional facebook pages I can see how useful they are as they are to access by not just staff but the public. recently I was looking at Plymouth hospitals NHS trust page and they are spreading awareness about getting flu vaccinations. #PUNC18
As student nurses, we need to ensure that as communication evolves that we are also evolving with it and they we keep updated as social media has become such a massive part of society. We need to ensure that we are incorporating it into our lives. #PUNC18
On 23rd October I completed part of my mandatory handling, they provided a lot of useful information, we were also able to practice what we had been taught. This was very helpful as I gained confidence. #PUNC18
In order for me to have a digital footprint, I have created a public account just for professional use to ensure that I am protected and so are the people that I care for. Whenever I am posting something I always ensure that it is following the guidelines of the NMC. #PUNC18
@WeLearnOutLoud If nurses have social media accounts which do not have the correct privacy settings and a patient is able to obtain personal information I could be dangerous for the nurse or cause harm to the patients #PUNC18
@WeLearnOutLoud It allows patients who are maybe stuck at home due to environmental or physical reasons, to be able to contact health professions such as using Skype. This means that they are still able to get health advice but in a way which is suitable for them. #PUNC18
