The UK’s only Grade II* coastal Lido was almost lost 14 years ago.

A warm Welsh welcome to Little Amal who is heading to us in Cymru for the first time! @walkwithamal is a 12-foot puppet of a 10 year old Syrian refugee child whose message to the world is ‘Don’t forget about us!’

Since 2021 she has travelled the globe, meeting 2 million people on the street and tens of millions online. She's been welcomed in 165 cities, met the Pope, visited COP26, the UN headquarters and the European Parliament, becoming a globally recognised symbol of human rights, especially those of refugees.

On Sunday evening Amal will lead the children’s parade from Little Folk, gathering the wishes of young people along the way. She'll attend the Green Man burn, adding her own wish to the effigy, as well as those of the children of Little Folk, local schools and refugee organisations across Wales.

Wales is a Nation of Sanctuary and Powys has hosted the highest number of Ukrainian refugees in the country, so let's welcome Amal to GM24 with open arms! 💚
