Andrew Watson was born on this day in 1856.
Watson made history in 1881, becoming the first black player to play international association football when he captained Scotland to a 6-1 victory over England.
We made the @thetimes a few weeks ago. Our Providence Tartan Army are still gleaning interest from all over the world on our big yellow school bus convoy to the Gillette Stadium 3 weeks today from Providence.
21 🚌 will leave late afternoon packed to the rafters with members of the TA, special guests and a FIFA media helicopter who’ll be filming our football royalty all the way to Foxborough.
It’s going to be memorable and we will do it all again on 19th June for the Morocco game with 20 buses leaving late morning and we’ve got media onboard filming the TA at its finest.
Follow us for updates for a week of planned events for both the TA and local residents as we enjoy the hospitality of Providence, including our charitable donation day to @Hasbro local children’s paediatric cancer ward.
It all kicks off from 12th June!

“Only my nephew could go to instanbul for the villa game with no ticket. Get a ticket. Find the players hotel. Blag into the private after party with the players, hold the trophy and meet the prince. 🤣🤴
What a story & memory! 🏆”
