The puffin’s latin name Fratercula arctica means “little friar of the north”.
Maybe because the puffin’s sturdy little black and white body looks a bit like a scurrying monk, busy with his chores? And if you think that couldn’t be any cuter a young puffin is called a PUFFLING!

Monday's finds included a sea worn lobster trap tag from Maine, USA dated 1999 and a milk bottle top from New England. Also a Scrabble letter and a native American figure. All washed up on Cornish beaches.
