I’ve been lucky enough to have many fantastic encounters with dolphins and whales, but this is the first time I’ve truly experienced that feeling of one of these incredible animals looking intently at me as I looked down at him/her. I will cherish that moment forever 🐬 (6/6)
@KLM hi - my flight with you was cancelled today; rebooked onto a flight with a different airline. Can I get a refund for the preferred seats I purchased for my flight with you? Please advise - thanks
BREAKING NEWS ‼️
We are disgusted by the decision to grant a five-year whaling licence to two Icelandic companies to hunt fin and minke whales.
Following Iceland's general election last week, three parties are negotiating on forming a coalition government. All have publicly stated they are against whaling. But, the Independence Party and caretaker prime minister have strong ties to the whaling industry and large scale fisheries and they decided to go ahead just days before the new government takes power.
This decision is not only a serious lapse in judgment that will cause immense suffering and negatively impact the ocean ecosystem, but it is also highly unethical for a caretaker government to implement such a conflicting law - especially given its close ties to millionaire whale killer Kristján Loftsson.
As always, we will fight against this horrific decision and stand with the majority of Icelandic people to contest it. Please help us with a donation: https://t.co/NlrTiAzYi1 #StopWhaling #SaveTheWhaleSaveTheWorld #EndWhalingForever

@CAStateParks hi there - I recently got a parking citation at one of your parks whilst on holiday in California. I’m now back home in the U.K. and can’t seem to pay it. The website isn’t working and no citation can be found when I use the call line. I don’t know what to do?
@DanBrownNature We had one crash out on the deck on one trip - sad that happened of course but it was a good opportunity to actually see the little white chin patch
Photo submitted to HappyWhale @happyhumpback from recent @naturetrektours Baja California and Sea of Cortez trip. This female humpback, which we saw with her calf, has clearly survived some orca encounters: look at the tooth rake marks on her flukes! #Happywhale#Humpback
@naturetrektours’ Baja and the Sea of Cortez trip is not just great for whales and dolphins, there is a fantastic variety of bird life too. Over 150 species were spotted on the last trip, including some endemics and rarities for the region.
A Gray whale calf approaches guests for a tummy rub! Just one of many amazing wildlife encounters on the @naturetrektours Baja California and Sea of Cortez trip. Other highlights included a super pod of over 2000 common dolphin, blue & humpback whales & over 150 bird species
@ChrisWillx happy to hear you say you are keenly interested in visiting Antarctica on your recent Q&A! given you love history, the Ross Sea would be a great region of Antarctica for you to visit with the exploration history, such as Shackleton’s hut: https://t.co/X6g0OSviYz

@LuisHuckstadt @bls8tokyo2024 Being aware of your audience is so important! In addition to slowing down for non-first language English speakers try to use words which are easier to understand: simpler language doesn’t ‘dumb down’ the science it just makes it more accessible and enjoyable to listen to.

@ChrisWillx love your podcast! One question: whenever climate change is discussed on the show it’s from a very human focused angle; would you ever have anyone on who can discuss this from the angle of impact upon animal and plant life? I get it may not be your area of interest
Here's a sobering highlight from my #sustainwhat chat on the booming krill fishery in #Antarctic seas now dense with whales. In 2021, several whales died in nets set for vast blooms of these tiny crustaceans bound for omega-3 oils and salmon farms. I offered responses sent by Norway's top krill-harvester @AkerBioMarine to @APjoshgoodman from @AP, @whale_nerd & Nicole Bransome from @pewenvironment:
