Sudden floods across Afghanistan, like in Wardak, threaten lives and health. Decomposing animal carcasses spread disease, especially in extreme heat. @FAOAfghanistan quickly removed 100 carcasses in 72 hrs, preventing outbreaks. Climate change makes such rapid action vital.

On 28 June flash floods swept through Daimirdad, Nirkh & Chak in Wardak, hitting about 2000 households.

@FAO & partners moved fast to safely dispose of near 100 animal carcasses within the first 3 days, preventing disease spread amid a heat wave. More on FAO's support to follow!
