So let me get this straight...

Canada is in a recession—the only G7 country currently in one. Unemployment is up. Inflation is rising. Food insecurity is at a record high.

Yet the highest proportion of Canadians since 2017 now say the country is on the right track.

That's either a remarkable display of optimism—or a sign that many Canadians aren't getting the full economic story from the news they consume.

I remember about 20 years ago a cabinet minister resigned over an $18 glass of orange juice. Now Carney spends almost $100k on luxury airplane food on 1 trip, and it's hardly news. We didn't tolerate this before, but somewhere over the last 20 years the Canadian public has lost it's balls.

Kids intuitively know they’re not ready to steer their own lives. When parents pull back too much, anxiety rushes into the open-ended void. Structure isn’t restriction — it’s the quiet safety net that actually frees them to grow without constant overwhelm.

With youth mental health resources at record levels yet outcomes still declining, this pattern quietly challenges how we’ve been approaching parenting and childhood.

🇺🇸 The US unemployment rate is 4.4% but they did lose 93K jobs in February.

🇨🇦 The Canadian unemployment rate is 6.7% & Canada lost 100K jobs between January - February 2026.

Considering the size of the US population vs the Canadian population, Canada is clearly losing way, way more jobs compared to the USA & has a dramatically higher unemployment rate.

Also, 14% of Canadian youth are unemployed compared to under 10% in America.

Why do Liberals idolize a leader who lies just as badly as Justin Trudeau?
