BREAKING: Federal Government receives the report of the Independent Investigative Panel on alleged corruption, abuse of power, torture, and inhumane treatment within the Nigerian Correctional Service.
Recidivism has dropped dramatically from 11,616 inmates in 2023 to 1,382 in 2025, reflecting the impact of ongoing rehabilitation and reintegration programmes.
Currently, 62 inmates are pursuing postgraduate studies, 261 are enrolled in undergraduate programmes, 1,125 are undertaking formal education, while 9,582 are receiving vocational skills training.
The government says the report will drive reforms aimed at transforming correctional centres into institutions of rehabilitation, restoration, and reintegration, ending dehumanisation, corruption, and discrimination while preparing inmates for productive lives after custody.
FACT CHECK: Misleading Claims on Viral Helicopter Video
The video being circulated does not show a Nigerian or Fulani-linked operation, nor does it provide any evidence of mineral smuggling in Nigeria.
What is actually seen is a Russian Mi-8MTV-1 helicopter (registration RA-25659)—a model long associated with various civilian and government utility roles. Notably, it is not a Turkish aircraft, as Turkish-registered aircraft carry “TC-” identifiers.
The footage shows individuals handling white sacks in a remote sandy location, but there is no verified information on the location, contents of the sacks, or the identities of the people involved.
Claims linking this clip to Fulani terrorists, Nigerian minerals, or smuggling activities are unsubstantiated and misleading, and appear to be a case of recycled old footage being repurposed with false context.
VIDEO: Fulani terror!st seen moving/exporting mined minerals out of the country through a Turkish Aircraft .…..
Why is the government not doing anything
Nasobi and other celebrities will ignore this. This is the US Secretary of States telling you they are in counterterrorism partnership with the Nigerian government to wipe out terrorists bastards. Nigerian celebrities are ignoring it. Indeed, we all know what we are doing!
Just because the Progressives created a city boy movement, Obidients decided to become City bandits by churning out fake news per seconds just to set the country on fire
🚨 BREAKING: MAJOR MILITARY STRIKE IN NIGER STATE
Nigerian troops have reportedly dealt a heavy blow to the JNIM terror network, neutralising over 200 fighters in a precision ambush in Niger State. According to local intelligence, the terrorists had gathered for a high-level meeting with a visiting commander from Mali when they were intercepted and struck by troops.
The operation is described as highly coordinated and decisive, dismantling a major gathering of insurgents in one sweep. The group’s Nigeria-based leader, Amir Akibu Armiya’u, reportedly escaped the operation narrowly.
This marks another significant setback for terror elements operating in the region as the Nigerian Armed Forces intensify sustained operations across multiple theatres.
Kudos to the gallant troops defending the nation day and night.
Wait! If Aisha Yesufu could be shouting and harassing her party leaders, including the owner of the SPV, Sen. Seriake Dickson like this, how are we so sure she's not b3ating ger husband at home
The sustained bombardment of terrorist camps by the Nigerian Armed Forces is clearly yielding results.
Pressure is being applied across multiple fronts, forcing these groups to abandon fortified locations, disrupt their coordination, and operate in a more fragmented and desperate manner. This is what consistent military action does. It denies them safe havens and reduces their capacity to regroup freely.
What we are seeing is not random violence but the predictable reaction of a weakened network under sustained offensive pressure.
This is why continued air support, intelligence-driven operations, and joint task force coordination remain critical. Every strike on their enclaves weakens their structure further and brings us closer to lasting stability.
Our troops are delivering results. The nation must stand firmly behind them until this threat is fully neutralized.
ISWAP acknowledging in its latest report that all is not well will tell you of the pressure they’re facing from the Nigerian military. It will also give you a hint on why banditry is running wild outside the usual theatres of operations. Unfortunately, it is in these moments of chaos the most evil happen. This is when the armed forces need the most social support it can get.

Senator Oshiomole feels the Military is not being transparent and accountable. He's right that the Senate passed a resolution for the Military to reveal the officer who gave the order for soldiers to leave the Kebbi school before abductions took place
ISWAP announced through their unofficial media that all routes of "hijrah" meaning migration for foreign fighters to ISWAP are now closed due to "attacks of the American dogs and the apostates of Nigeria", and that the situation is too dangerous.
I think @ARISEtv has to do better in terms of its image and reputation. I quite like how Presidential Spokesperson, @BwalaDaniel, has blown the smoke in @charlesaniagolu's face regarding hypocrisy
Someone just has to call put their hypocrisy
Father Mbaka openly campaigned for Buhari while Pastor Adeboye has never campaigned for any politician. Father Mbaka did such a fantastic job to the extent that he got invited to Aso Rock. We know what you are. Oponu.
