lovely thoughts and comments we have received show how much Laura was loved and respected. Sadly I can't be there tomorrow as I'll be elsewhere at a previously arranged event but to all that will be attending tomorrow my thoughts will be with you all.
The past half term has been hard with COVID and new regulations but every moment longer I spend at CF the prouder I am of the whole school community for their resilience and their good humour. Tomorrow sees the funeral of our friend, colleague and teacher Laura Cook who was
taken from us and her family far too early. I only knew Laura for a relatively short time but time enough to know how committed she was to her work and the children she taught and especially in relation to English and literature. Laura's death has been a shock to us all and the
I’ve been a successful teacher and school leader for many years.
I get things wrong all the time.
That’s ok and no big deal. As long as I keep learning.
Primary students in Phases 1 & 2 are loving their German & Spanish lessons. This week they performed role-plays with their new puppet friends #languages#German#Spanish#voice 🇩🇪🇪🇸
Great visits @HighNewsome and @HillViewAcadem1 yesterday. So much positivity and amazing relationships in and outside of the classroom. It was wonderful to meet Myla as well. Our latest therapy dog @HighNewsome. @ImpactMAT - where hearts and minds connect.
We’re a friendly, supportive, innovative and enthusiastic Schools Team and if like us you believe every child should have an oracy education, take a look and please RT
Truly magnificent effort in a week which has seen 'real' meetings happen and real support from all stakeholders including governors two of whom joined me for my Hot Chocolate rounds yesterday!
We've had some very sad news this week about one of colleagues whom we are all thinking about daily. Yesterday we decided to do a Bun Sale for Kirkwood Hospice partly because of her but also to join in with their Big Get Together which fitted so well into our whole school Unity
topic. This saw parents coming into school to join with their children for the last part of the day. The bun sale was originally designed by Y6 but the charity of our wonderful school community to donate so much means that as of now we have raised £811.24 for @TheKirkwood_UK
Well done to Harriet for being our representative in Highlights assembly, she read part of her excellent diary entry. Also well done to Olivia, who received a lovely hot chocolate. She is a super star and has been working hard this week!
@HeadCrossley Thanks for getting in touch! That’s so nice to hear. I’m really glad you’ve been able to build such a full scheme of work around themes within the book.
