That’s how you really lose them—not the moment they walk away, but the moment they stop believing.

Because when a kind heart lets go, it’s never out of spite.. It’s simply because they’ve reached their limit.

I met someone who used to absorb everyone’s emotions — now she stays calm even in other people’s storms.
I asked her how she stopped carrying everyone’s energy.
She smiled and said:
“I started protecting my peace,
not explaining it.”

“I used to take on other people’s moods like it was my job.
If someone was upset, I felt responsible.
If someone was cold, I thought it was my fault.

“But I learned that empathy without boundaries is exhaustion.
Now when things get heavy,
I just breathe slower —
to remind myself what’s mine and what’s not.”
She still cares deeply,
but her calm is no longer negotiable.
Her breath is the space
between her peace and the world.

The Santa Rosa Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating 47-year-old Sunshine Borjas. Sunshine was reported missing in the evening of October 1, 2025. Borjas left her Santa Rosa, CA home at approximately 1:30 pm and drove to Bodega Head, where she was believed to be hiking alone. Borjas’s vehicle was located by law enforcement in the parking lot of Bodega Head during the early morning hours of October 2, 2025. Borjas was last seen wearing a grey shirt, grey leggings, and black sneakers. If you know Borjas’s whereabouts or have seen her, please contact the jurisdictional law enforcement agency for her location or contact the Santa Rosa Police Department Non-Emergency Dispatch line at 707-528-5222.
