🚨 BREAKING UPDATE: Di-Quan Schafar Hunt, 32, of Charlotte, NC has been arrested by CMPD.

On July 30 in Dilworth (East Blvd near Paper Skyscraper), he punched a woman walking with a get-well balloon on the sidewalk after she waved, knocking her down.

Video shows her eyes rolling back as she appeared unconscious. She suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized.

Hunt filmed and posted the attack (and other videos of him chasing women) on his social media.

CMPD matched the footage after a tip on Aug 6, obtained a warrant, and took him into custody that evening around 7:30 p.m.

He was first taken for medical treatment and will face assault with a deadly weapon charges once transferred to Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Hunt has at least 9 Mecklenburg arrests since 2023 (assault on female, DV order violations, weapons, threats, etc.) plus earlier convictions including discharging a firearm into occupied property.

Investigation ongoing. Women walking alone should stay alert.
