At the end Leo’s daughter is ignoring him and going out to do what seems like the same stuff he did. The song choice of “American Girl” seems to bring the point home.

Some see the movie as taking a side. I thought it cast all the radicals as ridiculous and incapable of learning. It’s “One Battle After Another” because everyone’s wrong, stupid, and convinced they’re right.

Our ancestors, before available artificial light, spent hours in the dark every night when they weren’t sleeping. They spend much of that time considering the day, ruminating on their dreams etc.

And again, the only reason you have that feeling about yourself is prior introspection.
