Promoting health, wellbeing and equality for LGBTQ+ communities of colour by shedding light on important health disparities among QTIPOC in the UK. ๐
Weโre delighted to share the success of our November meeting, where we were honoured to support the Panel in engaging directly with the Mayor of Greater Manchester, @AndyBurnhamGM
It was an invaluable opportunity for the Panel to discuss how their work aligns with the Mayorโs!
It was a privilege to be invited to attend the @cahn_uk Black History Month Awards Gala, focusing on ending #healthinequalities and addressing the wider #disparities affecting #Caribbean and #African communities across generations.
Great start to the day for #GoodEmploymentWeek in Greater Manchester.
So pleased to support the delivery of the Greater Manchester Race Equality Panel's

See you there!
Big thank you to the team at IMPACT Manchester who were fantastic hosts, delivered a series of really impactful presentations, and made the Panel feel really and truly at home!
We heard from a number of excellent speakers, looking at ways to harness social media for good, the Anti-racism Toolkit for GM Schools, the Local Transport Plan, and ways we can manage conflict and raised complaints in a constructive and impactful way.
We had the pleasure of supporting the GM Race Equality Panel to connect in person with Deputy Mayor @KateGreenSU today, to highlight key concerns impacting racialised communities and make baseline recommendations regarding how to take decisive action! Change is coming!
Itโs been a heavy few days, but weโre here with you. We want to spread some positivity!

๐How do you determine what counts as public engagement and research for ethics review?
What guidelines can help do public engagement ethically?

In January of this year, @HealthBeetle became the facilitators for the Community Health Equity Manchester (CHEM) LGBTQ+ Engagement Group. ๐
While lots of progress has been made, we still have a ways to go, so stay tuned! ๐๐ฝ

Amidst the outpour of hostility and violence aimed at racially and ethnically minoritised people in UK this week, this group of passionate, highly skilled, highly motivated volunteers (Yes, volunteers!) have remained resilient, busy and solution-focused!
Two micro-workshops were also delivered, exploring accessibility, inclusive, and psychological safety with the context of race, ethnicity, and social change.
