A year ago, the idea that you could close every restaurant, café and pub in the capital without a Parliamentary vote or even a debate would have been unthinkable. Today we have allowed government by executive decree and it now seems normal. Covid lawmaking has corroded democracy
Oh no, I woke up this morning feeling really asymptomatic!
My fault for being reckless & spending with other healthy, asymptomatic people.
I should really have an unrealiable PCR test, at 45 cycles, that detects old DNA virus from last year so I can imprison myself for 14 days.
So strange to be in John Lewis, with all the masked shoppers, in a part of the country with almost no Covid.
Some days, the societal pantomime we are all extras in strikes you with more force than others.
Normality ASAP, please.
@BlueLewisham@allisonpearson@neilwildy@MULUC9 @MichaelKCrofts @MariaCu80986175@FullFact High-ranking scientists are just as capable of circling the wagons to suppress research that goes against their own as high-ranking priests are capable of circling the wagons to suppress evidence of them f*cking choirboys.
@KMc_head@BlueLewisham@allisonpearson@neilwildy@MULUC9 @MichaelKCrofts @MariaCu80986175@FullFact At the moment we have a problem because academics and politicians are both past-masters at avoiding blame, both know there is an inquiry coming. Scientists will recommend toughest restrictions and dare politicians to tone them down, politicians will follow them to avoid blame.
@JuliaHB1@allisonpearson Certificate Of Vaccination IDentification come on folks. If you’d bother to check your M&S ready meal for ingredients you’ll want to do the same with this. This isn’t normal and never tested on children or the vulnerable. Does that not scream Shambles!?
I’d like to respond to @FullFact by pointing out it is brave people within the NHS who are giving me the real data which contradicts the official scaremongering.
So grateful there are good people who care about the misuse of facts to deceive us.
I'm surprised SAGE hasn't told us which TV shows we can watch and whether we can eat turkey. The academics on SAGE are running amok, intoxicated with their new-found power and status. Ultimately the country will end up hating scientists. The SAGE goons will be to blame.
Bracing for a nation of kids with illnesses caused by cleaning products as it destroys their gut flora and lowers immunity. Encouraging my 7 year old nephew to shove his hands in any available soil! Mud pie anyone?
@allisonpearson Sick of the BBC showing parents who brag about not sending kids back. They’re not scared it’s because they can. Where’s the other side?! My only-child 7 year old nephew is crying himself to sleep because he misses his friends.
I’ve seen hundreds of videos of unstunned slaughter in my work as a lawyer. The practice is barbaric, cruel, totally unacceptable and unnecessary. It should be the subject of an immediate global ban. There is no excuse for it whatsoever https://t.co/6y3QWEj8zC
@BenGoldsmith So all this time our county has been ruled by this twerp and the likes of Miller et al! How are laws passed in the blink of an eye by ’slytherin’ and nothing is done about it. Hoping whoever topples this lot from their scheming is just waiting their turn
@jessphillips You and the rest of your party using the words ‘shame’ and ‘sorrow’ in every sentence go hand in hand with the likes of ‘surrender’ ... one must get ones house in order before throwing stones... Shame is one of the most heinous burdens to carry.
@richardplackett I actually am waking up with anxiety about the perils of Corbyn in government. I feel like none of us leavers know where to turn with a punch to the stomach at every turn.
