Feels like I am in the ‘what’s happening I am looking for a miracle zone’ after a meeting turned out unexpectedly so I have one day to find the $ (we thought we had) to help save Vida’s house.
Another update! We have a potential meeting today to cover most of this after some challenging moments this week and have till next week to make up for back draft changes. We will still need to make up the difference, about $1K, plus another 5 to 10K to be safe for April until the first production commences. Another known acgor attached! The sacrifices we make to get things done! Thank you! Love you! ❤️🙏📞🫎🧸❤️💕😇☃️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🎥🎬
Sometimes life hits all at once. Delays, loss, and timing put Vida’s home at risk — and now we’re racing to cover legal and appraisal costs so refinancing can happen. If this reaches the right people, it helps.

Update. Was given an extension until Feb 11 and may have a dear friend helping out. Had 50K bank draft but lender lawyer wants it changed to his Corp name in trust. Not sure yet if I can get that done their way. It’s complicated for such a stressful and straightforward payment. Still awaiting film funds. 2.5K help still appreciated and if all this can be pulled off, it’s a miracle.

Good-faith film deals delayed payments that were covering our mortgage. Vida had to refinance to survive, and now her home is at risk. This is a timing crisis, not irresponsibility. Any help makes a difference 🔗 https://t.co/ibjtzJfV3l
My latest update — Help Save Vida’s Home
I’ve shared a clear financial breakdown, context around delayed film payments, and why we urgently need a solution.
Any support or sharing truly helps 🙏

I’ll explain more soon why have been supporting vetted film projects we believe in and still stand by them, even as industry delays put us under real pressure.
We’re in a time-sensitive window before February 5, working to stabilize and protect Vida’s home.

We backed real film projects that later experienced major delays. Those delays created a short-term crisis, putting Vida’s home at risk by Feb 5.
This isn’t about new risk — it’s about stabilizing and resetting responsibly.
Even $10–$25 helps.

Prime Minister Carney, current inflationary pressures are showing up in real ways — delayed payments, tighter credit, rising legal costs, and increasing mortgage defaults.
These are economic indicators affecting hard-working, well-intentioned individuals, alongside growing affordability challenges, homelessness, migration pressures, and public health strain. We’re living proof of these indicators and, like many Canadians, are seeking stability just to survive. Our story: https://t.co/P4X2bF1Tgr
We’re launching the new Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit. That’s going to put hundreds of dollars more into the bank accounts of over twelve million Canadians, starting this year.
We’re building a stronger economy, and some of the biggest payoffs will take time to be felt. So we’re making sure people have the support they need right now.
This is Vida. Co-Organizer!
We’re trying to save her home while delayed repayments from real, vetted film projects resolve in a challenging but potentially improving industry climate.
We chose patience, transparency, and community as the way through.

Adding a bit of context for those asking:
These were real, vetted film projects with real producers and real timelines. I’ve been involved in the facilitation of seven-figure film deals.
Some funds have returned, while a meaningful portion remains outstanding — reflecting the current film business climate and long production cycles.
We chose patience, transparency, and community as a temporary bridge. Grateful for the thoughtful messages and support.

Update: Vida is now a co-organizer of the campaign to save her home.
Delays in contract loan repayments from legitimate film projects created urgent legal & appraisal and other essential costs as we work toward refinancing. Any support or shares are truly appreciated.
