I’m proud that an Islington North lad is among those who contributed to the Student Commission on Racial Justice report out later today @LeadersUnlocked. Evidence collected on their peers’ experiences will be invaluable in working to reduce racism in our society.
Students & Young People have been doing a great job. If you see this, it's a nudge to either remind yourself, your peers, your students or your children that they're doing great. Sometimes a few words can go so far especially as exams/assesments are approaching :)
@Suziey33@Josie19752 @PorksterCdC I’m glad we wear masks etc. I don’t feel safe at all in school but wearing a mask all day makes me feel that little bit better. I’d rather feel a bit uncomfortable all day than bring home a deadly virus
I think this is a terrible idea. It seems almost like a punishment for kids, who have done nothing but worked incredibly hard recently. They haven’t been able to go out and have fun for a year, why take more of that time away from them! What does everybody else think?
And a huge thank you to all the parents who’ve had to juggle working, teaching and parenting, you guys deserve to spend some quality FUN time with your kids! ❤️ They shouldn’t be in school during the summer, they should going out & having some fun with their family and friends!
I also think about the poor teachers who have worked relentlessly during this pandemic. They deserve a break. To any teachers on here, on the behalf of all students, thank you for everything you’ve done for us! It’s not gone unappreciated or unnoticed❤️
@SammiMckean That’s lovely to hear! I think people forget that education isn’t everything, yes it’s important but allowing kids to have fun and be happy is more important. We’ve still learned throughout the pandemic. Kids going out & making memories is also part of growing up!
@IndependentSage Many don’t want to go back. It’s not safe. Bubbles are broken, no social distancing. Our mental health whilst being in school during the pandemic is awful. We are forcefully exposed to the virus and it’s not fair. We should be doing a phased return at the very least.
After months of uncertainty and stress, we finally have it - how exams will be graded this year. I thought I’d post the link on here for anyone who would like to know ☺️ https://t.co/MDBDnKTqcV
@n_hassall @Parents_Utd I think the “lack of evidence for closing schools” is ridiculous. There’s loads of evidence that schools caused a huge rise in cases!
As an exam year student I am sat here in despair at the thought of going back to school & STILL not knowing how I am getting my grades. I leave school in 3 months, & still have no clue what is happening. It’s been nearly 2 months since exams were cancelled. How can they do this?!
@GavinWilliamson you’ve been a little bit too quiet for a little bit too long. Please stop keeping students in the dark. You’ve had long enough to come up with a plan now, at this point you’re torturing us.
@sa_lou_lala@katybeeee I’m really upset about it. It does not take this long to sort it out. We’ve been in the dark for so long and a backup plan should’ve been made in September as this was always a huge possibility. I wish your son the best as I know how difficult this is 😢
