Great news! Today our midwives @Leeds_Childrens have given out our first 'Welcome To The World' suitase to a baby born with #DownSyndrome.
The family have received gifts and supportive information from.
Thanks to @DiffAbilityCIC for donating these beautiful suitcases💜
Inspiring speech from Máire Lea-Wilson outside the High Court. She reflects after hearing the verdict from her landmark case against UK Govt, to stop abortion up to birth for babies with disabilities. 👊⚖️
Thanks again to @ianbirrell for keeping the issue of the New Eugenics in the public eye. If we allow eugenics to return it will undermine everything we believe in. @CitizenForward@citizen_network@ProfTimSUBC@fionnathan
Let's get organised.

My heart is breaking for these young girls and their future, what world do we live in when we can't be who we want to be, be respected for who we are or feel safe to walk our streets. https://t.co/VpWN9KSTsg
#Mythbusting#DownSyndrome
There is a myth that siblings of people with Down's syndrome suffer. We asked around and guess what, it's not true!
Studies that have been done back our findings

I’m not a burden I’m not a risk even though my different ability is a little part of me that’s just what makes me special to each and everyone of you as it’s the ability to have my voice heard for Down syndrome awareness to give back to the Down syndrome community.
‘SORT IT OUT.’ Thank you to @TheLastLeg for sending out a message to @Channel4 for deaf folk who are missing their subtitles.
Remarkably, @AdamHillsComedy lifting these boards is the only accessible bit of C4 for the last two weeks…
@dontscreenusout @Jeanett03422100 Absolutely. It's cruelly ironic that people who believe they are better humans than Heidi (because that what it boils down to) can't seem to understand the deep injustice that she is so clearly highlighting. Heidi *is* awesome just as she is.
@Ella_M_Whelan Don't be so naïve.
Why should the law be any different for my child?
Are you are telling me he shouldn't have the same right to be protected after 24 weeks?
What are you basing this opinion on?
If it is because he has Down's syndrome?
@Ella_M_Whelan The irrational thing is not recognising that late term abortion on the grounds of discrimination is wrong. It's not about you, or your body!
@Ella_M_Whelan Its not about the womans body in late term abortions.
It makes no difference to the woman if she has the baby terminated or gives birth to it and gives it up for adoption.
