So pleased yesterdayπ to go to @Deal_Town Hall & replace the old AED cabinet with a new, more durable polycarbonate one, thanks to a local grant. It was also a good opportunity to encourage passers by to learn CPR ππ& how to use an AEDβ‘οΈ

Learn to save a life this year.
Saddened and disappointed that @HSBC_UK feel it now necessary to charge account fees to small, not for profit educational emergency life support charities. This fee may be small to a big bank but to groups that rely on donations to operate, this is a blow.
After more than 2yrs, I was so pleased today to be able to place the Alfred Sq Public Access Defibrillator. Thanks to All the people of @Deal_Town who donated, Friends of North Deal, customers of the Sarcens head & a grant from the Town Council #MissionAED#HeartSafeCommunity

I know the whole of the NHS is struggling, but honestly today has made me so frustrated with how much the ambulance services are being shafted from all sides, that I'm going to rant. 1

A very sad day @TheBHF
Teaching this course for 6yrs has been an absolute joy & an utterly rewarding experience for all of us. We know it had a direct effect on lives in our communities & empowered 1000's of people with the confidence to act.
" simply skills that save lives" π₯
Absolutely gutted to receive this news from @TheBHF today.
In the 6yrs we have been providing Emergency Life Support courses FOC in our communities, we have trained many hundreds of ordinary members of the public & we know that those skills have been used to save lives. Sad dayπ’
High #bloodpressure increases your risk of heart attack of stroke. Nearly 5 million people in the UK donβt know they have it. But what is high blood pressure and what causes it? https://t.co/OkAo2Mpsxk

@misstaylorwrhs@heartfoundation This is brilliant,
π I've been struggling to work out how to teach teach practicals safely and well next year. I was hoping some direction would come from @TheBHF
Many of the Public Access Defibrillators in @Deal_Town are supported with an aftercare plan. Just days after being used; they are cleaned, checked, batteries and electrodes replaced and are back in their cabinets.This one has been used 3x since it was installed a few yrs ago
This week we started back on the campaign for the Alfred SQ Public Access Defibrillator site in @Deal_Town Due to covid, the Town Council decision to adopt the kiosk had been put on hold. September sees the return of council meetings & we are hopeful of this being an agenda item
