John Blanche was a unique man, and his work inspired me every day as a fan and as someone lucky enough to have worked with him on Warhammer and 40K. Words can't do him justice, so I'll let his art do the talking. RIP, John, we'll never see your like again.

At a certain point an Admech has to get frustrated enough to employ percussive maintenance, right? There's only so much chanting over the air conditioner you can do before you start throwing hands with the machine spirit.
We were deeply saddened by the news of John Blanche's passing.
His remarkable work helped define the look and spirit of the Warhammer universe, inspiring generations of artists, hobbyists, and fans along the way.
Rest in peace, John. Your legacy will live on.
I dare anyone to take a look at even the slightest bit of terrain in the setting and tell me that John Blanche’s influence isn’t somehow there. He was far more than just an artist, he was the aesthetic DNA for the grim darkness of the far future. No Blanche, no 40k. May he rest.
In life, war. In death, peace. In life, shame. In death, atonement. Death Korps of Krieg is the name of all of the Astra Militarum regiments from the devastated, post-atomic Death World of Krieg in the Segmentum Tempestus. But how could their ways possibly cross with the von Valancius dynasty?
