Yesterday we talked about self harm and why people do it.
One thing that stood out is this: it’s often not about wanting to die but about trying to cope with overwhelming pain. Today we share the signs that you can look out for.
It’s Self Harm Awareness Month. Self harm is often surrounded by stigma and misunderstanding. Yet for many individuals, it is a coping mechanism used to manage overwhelming emotional pain.
Can you give an hour, a day, or a few days of your time each week?
If you’re passionate about mental health professional and you would love to volunteer, we’d love to hear from you.

We recently held our annual planning retreat for Heart to Heart Spaces.
It was a meaningful time of reflection, celebrating what we achieved, honestly reviewing where we fell short, and intentionally planning for the year ahead.

Over-identifying with work or a job title can fuel burnout, emptiness and depression especially for men who neglect their emotional, social and spiritual lives. When unemployment hits, “Who am I without my work?” becomes a real mental-health challenge.

At Heart to Heart Spaces, we remain committed to creating safe spaces, advancing prevention and supporting mental health research so no one walks their journey alone
Healthy relationships require emotional literacy - the ability to recognize, name and share feelings safely. Teaching and learning this is not weakness, it’s prevention.

When relationships break down through rejection, divorce or betrayal men often have few emotional outlets. While women may turn to friends and family, men may turn inward to alcohol abuse, workaholism or extreme silence. This isolation can deepen mental health problems.
