Congratulations to Chico Heat skipper Fred Ludwig on being named the GWL Manager of the Year for the second time. The only manager the Heat has known, Ludwig led the Heat to the 2018 GWL Championship.

Chico Heat right-hander Justin Sterner is the 2018 GWL Pitcher of the Year. Sterner, who hails from Laguna Niguel, California and plays at Brigham Young University, went 7-0 with a 3.02 ERA. Over 39 innings he allowed only 26 hits, while fanning 68 hitters.
