No bra, just wear a crop-top-style blouse… and that’s your Garba night outfit.
Meet Aditi Bhadoriya, a social media influencer.
Just take a look at her Navratri Garba outfit.
Seriously, where are we heading in the name of fashion?
The front is almost completely exposed, and the occasion is a Garba night during Navratri...1/2

Once again, questions around women’s clothing have resurfaced with Dandiya and Navratri. In my opinion, it’s all about perception. With greater exposure to modernity, our thinking should expand rather than narrow.
There are some communities in my native place where I have seen grandmothers wearing the saree without a blouse, essentially backless, not as a fashion, but as tradition. Across India, what some now call “revealing” has long been ordinary cultural practice for many groups. Western societies have historically imposed far fewer restrictions on women’s dress. Even ancient Indian sculptures depict women in attire that would today be deemed bold, yet there is little evidence that such clothing was viewed through purely lustful eyes. The difference lies in the gaze, not the garment.
The comparison with temple dress codes misses an important distinction. Those codes were shaped by the belief that the body should absorb the temple’s energy; men were traditionally asked to remove their upper cloth, while for women the practice settled into the saree or salwar as the accepted norm. A religious festival, by contrast, is a celebration. Regarding the argument about office standards, an office is a workplace-people do not go there to dance and celebrate. Treating festive attire as a moral failure reflects a narrow lens rather than a consistent principle.
The most flawed argument is that women dress a certain way to attract men for sex, or that jihadis will misuse their freedom. Women are not zombies. They possess their own minds and choices. Everyone has to face the consequences of the choices they make. Moral policing does not accelerate or replace that process. Stepping away from the urge to control others’ clothing is not the abandonment of values-it is the recognition that perspective, context, and personal responsibility matter more than uniform restrictions.
Hindus should stop Moral Policing.
Do you really think that you are worshipping Amma while calling a random woman whore just because her dress is not acceptable to you?
Grow up!!
This girl exposed the dark side of Garba, showing how some girls deliberately wear revealing clothes to Garba events to sexualize themselves, while some guys are already planning to take them to OYO rooms.
These are the same woke people who spend all 365 days partying in clubs and drinking alcohol, but during the 9 days of Navratri, they suddenly act like devotees of the Goddess.
These woke hypocrites should be kicked out of Garba events before it's too late.
