1 / New report shows just how much NYers could save with the *full* #NYHEAT Act.
If NY capped utility bills at 6% of income, households would save an average of $136 a month—that's real money freed up for NYer’s groceries and rent.

This is a big deal, the beginning of a fundamental new shift in our energy system:

This is the same thing we tell people: insulate first, then size the heat pump, then install solar based on the heat pump’s usage. Of course, some installers manage to do that all at once pretty well too, estimating the needed size of the solar.
We’ve been working on a home-by-home basis to improve energy efficiency and switching to heat pumps. We will continue but as Donovan Gordon @NYSERDA says “we need to move from home-by-home to neighborhood-by-neighborhood” - and CNY is working on it! @NYGE0 2022
Doing research on heat pump costs. If you recently installed a heat pump, can you help us out by sharing:
- When you installed it
- How much it cost
- What fuel you switched from (e.g. gas)
- How big the system is (e.g. 3 ton, 2 mini-split heads)
People building new homes are making an investment in their future. Here are Shelly's reasons for why a geothermal #heatpump system was the best choice for her new Erieville, NY home. Come see her system for yourself on April 30th! https://t.co/sDPyZVF6p2
