I've said it before and I'll say it again: I'm against both parties.

Apparently that makes some people lose their minds.

I've caught plenty of grief for saying Republicans deserve as much scrutiny as Democrats. I don't care.

MAGA has a selective memory.

During Trump's first term, he was impeached twice by the Democrat-controlled House.

Where were all these "Republican allies"?

The first impeachment went to a Republican-controlled Senate. Trump was acquitted, but not every Republican rode into battle for him. In the second, seven Republican senators voted to convict him.

Then Trump left office and became the first former president in American history to face criminal indictments. By 2023, he had been indicted in four separate criminal cases totaling 91 counts. (PBS)

Where was the Republican establishment then?

Too many were protecting their careers, their seats, and waiting to see which way the wind was blowing.

So forgive me if I don't believe every Republican politician is a Trump warrior because they put on a red hat and say "MAGA" loud enough.

Democrats have their establishment. Republicans have theirs.

I'm not loyal to a party. I'm loyal to the American people.

If a Democrat screws up, I'll call it out.

If a Republican screws up, I'll call it out.

If Trump screws up, I'll call it out.

If a politician needs a party label to tell me whether they're good or bad, they've already lost me.

I didn't leave the Republican Party.

The Republican Party left the idea that politicians should be held accountable.

I didn't become independent to trade one political cult for another.

I'm not MAGA. I'm not a Democrat. I'm not a Republican.

I'm an American.

Washington can kiss my ass if that bothers them.
