It’s worth repeating. A mom drove there. Got handcuffed. Got out of handcuffs. Hopped a fence. Went inside the school and walked out with her two kids. All while 19 officers waited outside the classroom where the gunman was. #UvaldePolice#Uvalde
I’m thinking about how a mom ran in and got her own kid, even after being handcuffed. I’m thinking about how the subway shooter was found by ordinary people. I’m thinking about how every dollar we give cops takes money from communities and gives it to guys who don’t protect us.
The cops let the shooter in, refused to go in and stop him, and then kept parents out. If this doesn’t change your views on policing I don’t know what will.
To get a wheelchair I need to get around and survive, I have to:
-Submit a report from a physical therapist
-Get approval from vendor
-Get approval from insurance
-Fight insurance denials
-Wait 6 months-1 year
America has makes it harder to get a wheelchair than a gun
My town has announced that in light of yesterday's tragedy there will be an increased police presence at the schools.
As a black father I now have two potential threats to be concerned over.
cops will shoot and kill a 12 year old playing with a toy gun from their cars, but let the texas psycho walk into the elementary school and kill kids, they shot at him & gave up. don’t talk to me about more school security. don’t talk to me about giving cops more money.
I can't get over how cops confronted the shooter at the door, let him get by them, then made up a story about body armor. While a teacher gave her life trying to defend her kids. The difference could not be clearer.
cops whine and bitch about risking their lives to defend people, and when a shooter shows up in what looks like (but isn't) body armor, they run & hide while a massacre unfolds. an unarmed teacher was brave enough to try.
I’m so sorry to be this way but if I see a raisin ever in my entire life I will fucking cry and vomit and shit and cry and puke and not be able to move
So the people who are obsessed with white birth rates and domestic infant supplies are the same people who got rid of the child tax credit and put tariffs on baby formula and refuse to allow parental leave and publicly funded pre-K? Got it.
