Who says one cannot be old, tough AND beautiful? This is a huge Azorella compacta, likely hundreds of years old, in the Apiaceae (yes! same family as parsley); North Argentina plateau. The bright-green surface is the rock-hard canopy of what is actually a small underground tree.
