Seeds!!! A keen eye will spot Pellie beaks forming now.. if you’re not too quick to deadhead. The seeds will slowly, frustratingly so sometimes, form and ping out on their fluffy tails. These are just pods, the seeds are nestled inside, waiting.
Whilst not in the best of condition I am so happy that both Hibiscus Karmen Keene & Fifth Dimension survived last winter in a not very warm greenhouse. 😊
A dash into the stock house today & I’m stopped in my tracks by this glorious beast. Species Pelargonium magentium. The foliage ain’t all that, as with many species Pellies the heat can cause them to look a bit rough as they go dormant for the hot months but, Wow! Those flowers!!
@debandychas2004@Darran_Jaques It’s called drop dead syndrome. It’s a thing. Prostantheras do it all the time. As do Grevilleas, and any and all of the myrtles. In fact, Aussie plants are strangely reliant on large quantities of water!
After the rain…. A snap of tulip flowered Pelargonium ‘Emma Fran Bengtsbo’ sharing her pot with ‘Lara Starshine’ taken just now in the early morning sun.
With part of the National Collection of pelargoniums now at Rosemoor we're delighted to host the annual Pelargonium & Geranium Society National Show here today 🌸
Our plants have been well & truly pampered in our greenhouses these past few months in readiness - come admire them!
New blog: a look around #BBCGWLive There's plenty to see and some interesting ideas. Find out what caught my eye here: https://t.co/tPxRtRgWpB

You might think I’m all about Pellies… you’d be wrong. I love these guys too. Hibiscus rosa-sinensis ‘Mrs Andreasson’ sometimes gives me pom-poms of peach and pink but this one is a semi-double and I Love It! ❤️
@mossgatherer_ ‘Mrs May Last’. She was going to be called ‘May Last’ but it was felt that this might put people off! She’s actually a really strong little thing. One of my favs. This one’s got a bit of a lean on but that’s hardly surprising, it always windy up here.
After yesterday’s extremes of heat, thunder, lightning and a delightful deluge (no watering needed today!), here’s ‘April Snow’. A Rosebud Pelargonium.. possibly one of my favourites 😉
