What's also important, and wonderful, about this ruling - that schools must provide single-sex toilets - aside from the obvious reasons, is the message it sends to girls from a young age that they matter, and that their rights and dignity will be prioritised.

That they deserve to feel safe and at ease in school, especially as they get older and the need for privacy and single-sex spaces becomes even more essential.

If girls grow up with that understanding, they will hopefully carry it with them into adulthood - never doubting the rights they are entitled to, or how they deserve to be treated and respected.

That's a message every girl deserves to hear.
