Don't live as an echo, but thrive as the sound. Heavy therapy, y'all need it. My place for reactions, daily listens, mini-reviews, #listseason, vinyl pickups.
In my opinion this is one of the most underrated albums of the year so far. Fantastic old school death metal, everything just feels right, it's riffy, it's creative enough without crossing the Borders of the genres... I love It!

@KMANRIFFSMetal@ExtremeMetalDad And for me, sounds crazy, by IX is also stellar. Basically: one of the greatest bm bands still to this day. Saw them live last week: amazing!
1st listen: An immersive album created by great riff variety, cool atmosphere, and dramatically performed vocals. WAY beyond their debut (7/1), and easily one of the better records I've heard so far this year. And the drums! Genre? Evil blackened dm to my ears. Pick it up. 8.8/10
2 listens: A nearly flawless doomed death metal LP. Heavy, amazingly produced w/ a vocal performance to die for. Gnarly, evil riffs. For pure DM, will be hard to top in 2026. It's like if slower Belphegor meets Incantation and Immolation. Let it consume you. All will rot. 9.4/10
2 listens: A peerless band, 'cause of the 4 members being oustanding, puts out another banger of an album. The 1st 4 tracks r perfect. No song is weak. Kurt's guitar playing is flawless; yet Ben's drumming steals the show somehow. I can't say enough good things about this. 8.9/10
The new converge record proves Metalcore fell off when it abandoned actual riffs.
That's probably why so many of you can't comprehend the greatness of converge.
@Jeremy_Hecht Out of these, I'll go with 19 or 20. Staples verse rules, too. Out of not these: any Billy woods or doseone verse. You know Akai Solo has some, too.
2 listens: My fav release of the week. HM-2 done perfectly w great song writing, passionate delivery; an album that stands out among the pack of HM-2 drones. They combine Coffins, Anatomia, Bolt Thrower, and a little heavy metal swagger. Think Japanese DM meets Swedish DM. 8.6/10

2 listens: A great blend of black metal, shoegaze, pop (but that puts a wrong picture in your head.) Love the musical choices on this. Vocals are FFO Portrayal of Guilt, Thou, Aara. Emotional, gripping, unique stuff. The first song is one of my fav songs of the year. 8.6/10
