#WildlifeOfTheWeek: Otter. The semi-aquatic otter has adapted to life in water with webbed toes, a rudder-like tail, ears & nostrils that close underwater, a waterproof outer coat & an insulating undercoat. They also learn to swim at around 3 months old! 😮

Otter from our lounge today. They're easy to see around Barra in winter but harder in summer when the island is busy and the days are long. Early mornings and late evenings offer the best chance of seeing one in the coming months.
