I've decided to take The Last Memory down from Barnes and Noble. It's up on Amazon. I'm going to see if I can't get the sample with the entire book for free as before. I'll try to get paper backs up as well.
Thanks again to @AdeOfQuality for his artwork!

The Last Memory | Chapter 6: One
"Things had been hard since dad died, and with her brother—his brother?"
"Onyx didn't have a brother."
Thanks to @MaindreTheFloop for another amazing piece!
@trasselvardias To them, you are a cell within their body. As long as you preform your function, you will be tolerated. If your sacrifice can make things better for them, or if you become an irritant, you will be cast aside. No one ever mourns the blood lost, only the pain of the wound.
@oldtoons_ The child can do nothing, they are trapped in a world not made by them. As the adult, although you must find whimsy by choice and effort, you can shape your world as you wish. Mourn the dead, but do not envy them.
@NobodymrRobert Rage bait. It's done on purpose and people love it because they can say to themselves "well at least I'm not that guy." It's getting people to lose faith.
It always comes down to whether or not you would call what is good God. If you do something, reality itself gives feedback on whether it is correct or not. Often times mental illness and behavioral disorders manifest because of an unwillingness to listen.
Ancient man listened, and to them it was a voice, both within and without. They believed their own thoughts were visions, and they heard the voice of what was right. The voice inward being aligned with that good (the holy spirit), and the voice of the good from reality (God the father), with Christ being perfected man that walks with God. We have gone back to a time where these things don't exist because we've been too far separated, and too few understand, or know how to put into words the truth of the world.
God does exist, he just doesn't exist as the literal, multi-translated, personified entity we think they spoke of. No one mocks the actual rules set forth aside from a very select and often times misunderstood few. They mock the concept of that entity, and often times for malicious reasons both against themselves and against others.
What terrifies man now the most is that the resolution of what the ancients saw will grow more and more clear, until "they have no excuse for their sins."
@_Ochiedike God doesn't prevent people from sinning, he defines what is good, and thereby what is sin through exclusion. Notice that societies that do away with slavery are more successful, that's God.
I have yet to see criticism against God that was not rooted in ignorance.
@MrTeaThyme@kittredge667871@europemaxxed You aren't even paying attention to who you're talking to.
Please, my brother in Christ, please stop and do some reflecting.
