Myanmar Military Junta just executed four pro-democracy activists. This is a disgusting, tragic, and sad reality to witness the failed state of the global community to even protect the basics of humanity. I’m more than disappointed, and I have lost hope in international leaders.
Yesterday I had an important discussion with Sweden FM @AnnLinde and briefed her the latest situation in #Myanmar. She highlighted #Sweden’s commitment to support the people of Myanmar for a return to democracy and civilian rule as well as to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Imagine how many other scenes like this haven't been caught on film. Imagine all the atrocities suffered by Rohingya communities because they were committed out of view.
This unhinged violence is sickening. What is also sickening is the fact that so many still do biz with them.
This is another inhumane and barbaric act of Myanmar military. Military leadership are accountable, must be brought to justice, ICC, international tribunal.
The international community must act decisively now.
Military dictatorship must end now.
Democracy & justice must prevail.
Everyday, the peaceful people of Myanmar are being targeted with crimes against humanity. We have made urgent and frequent requests for R2P, a no fly zone, arms embargoes, sanctions and recognition of NUG, but most of these requests have been met with no results on the ground..
