What an accomplishment. For both of them. What a grateful young man you are, pay respect to his mother for her sacrifices she made to give her family a better life.

Amazing stories, all of these. I recently learnt that Lamine Yamal's name carries the names of the 2 people who helped his family where they were in a poor spot. What a way to honour them.

The same is true for Nico Williams brother Iñaki .Named after a local basque aid worker who helped the family when they arrived in Bilbao.

It's a reminder that even small gestures can end up becoming part of someone's life story forever.

🇻🇪🇧🇷 Mientras otros describen las labores de rescate como un sacrificio personal, Roberto Yamamoto sostiene exactamente lo contrario. "Realmente es más lo que ellos me ayudaron a mí que lo que yo pude ayudarlos."

Es un mecánico brasileño. Sabe soldar, manejar maquinaria pesada, trabajar con estructuras metálicas, construir, pescar y sobrevivir en condiciones difíciles. Cuando vio por televisión las imágenes de Venezuela llamó a dos amigos y les propuso viajar.

Uno de ellos era Alejandro, venezolano radicado en Brasil. El otro, Carlos, fotógrafo. Ninguno dudó demasiado.

Explica que durante semanas convivió con personas que acababan de perder familiares, viviendas y prácticamente toda una vida construida durante décadas. Sin embargo, la actitud que más encontró fue la gratitud.

"Uno llegaba agotado y siempre aparecía alguien con un café, con un vaso de agua o simplemente preguntando si necesitabas algo. La gente aquí agradece antes de pedir ayuda. Eso me marcó profundamente."

Dice que esa solidaridad transformó por completo la manera en que entiende la fe. "En medio de tanta destrucción uno mira alrededor y descubre que existe un orden. Hay personas repartiendo comida, otras rescatando, otras consolando a las familias. Ahí es donde yo veo la presencia del Espíritu Santo".
