@StJohnsPriest@SBakerMD Wow! I lost respect for Drs in general a long time ago; one GP and two Registrars never even mentioned (or knew) that Carnivour, never mind Keto could normalise blood pressure! A total failure. I don’t think they even know.
Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) is NOT a primary disease in most people.
It’s a downstream signal of metabolic dysfunction.
In plain English:
Your body is struggling to regulate energy, hormones, fluids, and vascular tone.
And at the center of that struggle is one thing:
INSULIN RESISTANCE.
Blood pressure meds 💊 work by forcing numbers down.
They do this by:
• Dilating vessels
• Removing fluid
• Blocking hormones
• Slowing the heart
But none of them address why the pressure was high in the first place.
That’s why:
• Doses creep up
• New meds get added
• Side effects pile on
• The root cause stays untouched
This is symptom control, NOT resolution.
You can’t medicate your way out of a dietary problem.
Here’s what I see work every week in real patients:
1. Lower insulin, NOT salt 🧂
This means reducing foods that chronically spike insulin:
• Sugar
• Refined carbs
• Ultra-processed foods
• Constant snacking
2. Eat real, whole foods 🥩 🍳 🥑
Protein, healthy fats, and unprocessed foods stabilize blood sugar and insulin.
When insulin drops:
• Kidneys relax
• Vessels become more responsive
• Blood pressure often falls naturally
3. Fix the eating pattern, not just the food 🤐
Constant eating keeps insulin elevated.
Intermittent fasting or time-restricted eating:
• Lowers baseline insulin
• Improves vascular function
• Accelerates blood pressure improvement
4. Build muscle and move daily 💪
Muscle is an insulin sink.
The more muscle you have:
• The better your insulin sensitivity
• The lower your resting insulin levels
• The easier blood pressure normalizes
@afneil A nice day out and a fine establishment I’m sure. But begs the question; where did the institution get £1,000,000,000 from?! Makes you think, they haven’t produced a product or sold anything on thr open market as far as I know.
@StJohnsPriest Nice to see you back on Twitter Steven. I’ve missed you, not of that was me or you were offline for a while. But always enjoys your posts.
If you have high blood pressure, your salt intake is NOT the cause of your condition. It’s your poor metabolic health.
Excess sugar and carb intake, leads to excess and prolonged insulin secretion, stimulating salt retention by the kidneys and increased vascular resistance.
