As an elder millennial who came of age when Google became a verb, I had difficulty grasping that ~40% of Gen Zers use TikTok for search.
So I hosted a mini-focus group with Gen Zers to learn more.
Here are 3 takeaways:
It's a tough world out there for creators...
Over half of Google searches end without a click.
And social media platforms ding you for linking out.
What to do?
Beat the platforms at their own game.
Make Zero-Click Content.

What Aldi's marketing team have done is take something potentially damaging to their reputation (the court case), TAKEN A RISK, and it is paying massive dividends
Their social media and marketing team is being backed by the entire organisation, allowing them to do this. It's a clear demonstration of having that level of trust in marketing experts and supporting them to take risks can be transformational and create massive success
