@nypost The literal definition of NIMBY. I can't help but wonder how this couple has voted in elections for homeless shelters, affordable housing, etc.
Watched 1984 again. It is one of those films and one of those books that needs to be rewatched or reread periodically
You forget how excellent an actor John Hurt was and how good Suzanna Hamilton is.
You also forget how we are oh so close to this alternate reality. Not because of Republicans or Democrats but rather the need of both for control. Control of the message. Control of how much one can oppose the official message.
We saw this in how government and its agents controlled covid messaging. We saw this in how the messaging about Trump is uniform and lock step across all platforms. We saw this in how our government justifies forever war.
We see it as nation continues to spend recklessly yet engage in class warfare to distract people from how much of our sovereign debt the Federal Reserves owns or how much of the mortgage market the Federal Reserve owns.
We see it in the conscious efforts to change language and ideas to conform with interests...likely to prove that it can be done.
We see it in the subtle almost imperceptible adjustments to history setting the stage for larger chances to affect beliefs.
Freedom is the freedom to say that 2+2 makes 4. If that is granted. All else follows.
@AssalRad Yet Hamas seems to make sure there are many many civilians sitting front of them, hoping to see dead women and children in the news to provide fuel for the forever war.

It starts with the terminally ill, then the elderly, then it moves to the chronically ill, then the mentally ill. Now, the perfectly healthy.
@RNCResearch I have to agree with her. The party hitched it boat to him because it was just that important to defeat Trump. Plus, the guy has literally given his entire adult life to the party so to simply cast him aside for this is pretty low
Let's be blunt. "We" don't need to see them. Those who need to see them have: investigators, prosecutors, etc. The only reason "we" want to see them is to provide social media fodder or political fodder to blame Biden or Trump or Pelosi or McConnell or some amorphous entity, to gkve Fox or MSNBC talking points, to give vsrious influencers click bait with their regurgitated talking points from whatever party affiliated marketers gsve them. But the truth is we don't need to see them. We know who did it and that's really all that matters
Why? That question should be obvious when you look at the messages being relayed continuously by social media and colleges. That message being you will never get ahead on your own, that billionaires(all 2000 of them) have stacked the world against the other 330m people. Combine this with how piss poor the government has managed the economy, driving people into bankruptcy while lining their own pockets with self aggrandizing importance. It's really not surprising that more and more are turning to the allure of government taking from Jack to give to Jill when everyone thinks they're Jill.
At what point does the Board grow weary of Iger, Kennedy, Feige, and the rest of the ESG and DEI brigade that insist on blaming the fans for poorly made films
@christopherrufo@KenPaxtonTX Absolutely. It is not, by any definition, a necessary procedure. There is no reason whatsoever for taxpayer funded programs to pay for this.
@greg_price11 Perfectly appropriate. I don't care if he takes an afternoon nap. I do whenever the opportunity arises. We should be more concerned with how coherent and aware he is the remainder of the day because right now the question is what unelected individual is running the the WH.
@RachelBitecofer Yeah, This case was dropped 8 years ago because the woman made it all up.
Hopefully you can celebrate the fact that no 12 year olds were assaulted, instead of being enraged that they weren’t.
I really don't care if the guy takes an afternoon nap. I do as often as I can. What do care about is whether or not he is sundowning and is really only alert and coherent for about 4 hours a day and that is what we seem to be in a position of seeing because now it's a matter of what unelected individual is running things.
Is Pres. Biden staying in the presidential race?
After being questioned multiple times in Wednesday’s press briefing, the White House gave a clear answer: Biden is “moving forward with his campaign. … Anything else that we're hearing or that's being reported is absolutely false.”
