@ShakinthatChalk I’m not entirely sure. We just don’t use it anymore. I’m not KS3 lead and I’ve had a couple of years off for Mat leave. Came back and reduced my hours. I’m just there to teach now and go home and do my real job 🤣
@MrEastJ Love the blob tree of feelings - I use this in secondary school when we’ve got parents’ evenings, self evaluations or just whenever it feels right.
@Teacherglitter Any advice to parents who had a little one not enjoy today? Mine cried when I collected him. He’d been holding it in for the whole session and just played by himself.
@ShakinthatChalk@LaSalleEd@StudyMaths @jemmaths @mathsjem There’s a lesson on goteach that uses ice cubes and fire cubes to show directed number. Not counters though. You do need a subscription.
@JaggersMaths Numberblocks has a really fun episode for each times table and the visuals reinforce where the numbers come from. The only thing is a 6 y.o might find it a bit baby-ish. But worth a try. The 6, 7, 8 and 9 timetables are in series 7. Can’t remember which series 1 to 5 are.
@LucyENichol It’s hideous. I feel like I have an illness, no control over the highs and lows, no control over energy levels. I’ll say it again, it’s hideous.
@LittleMy2020 @dare_richard @isaacmoore7 If you’re thinking about starting a teaching career I would advise working towards moving to an excellent international school or a uk school that offers up accommodation. That’s the only way to financially survive.
@ShakinthatChalk Hit the charity shops. The one I volunteer in has 100s (no exaggeration) of suits. If you’re nice to the volunteers they might look for your size out the back 🙂
[Jamie] If any IB teachers have specification documents for SL and HL for mathematics can you please message me? I have both for 2014 but I know these were replaced in 2021.
@carolvorders I can’t really bear to read the things they did and said. I’ve just watched Help with Jodie Comer and Stephen Graham and was in tears throughout. Why can’t anyone just say sorry. Our ‘leaders’ set an incredibly low standard of humanity and our children see it……
@KerryDunton@Sheena2907@MrsDMaths@mathsjem Not well know yet. Tom Holmes plays for Reading FC. I tutored him for A-level maths (although he didn’t really need it) but he was playing footie so much the club paid for it. He was very gifted at maths. Wikipedia says he’s studying a degree part time - but don’t know what in.
