There is no possible, logical, reasonable, ethical, legitimate, sane, safe way we should open schools for face-to-face interaction this year. No argument devised can defeat the data and science on this one.
The hybrid education model will have the same results as states reopening. States will soon close back down and so will schools. Covid is still spreading. Don’t put our students, staff, parents and communities in danger. It’s virtual or nothing for the safety of everyone.

Instead of getting mad at your child’s teacher for wanting to stay alive, get mad at the government for refusing to provide monthly stimulus checks, more unemployment money, rent freezes, and childcare subsidies. The government has failed to act, not teachers.
There is no safe way to reopen schools right now. Back to “normal” is literally a death wish. Teachers are not babysitters, and there is not one, single, legitimate reason why we should be asked or expected to risk our lives, or the health of our loved ones. Period.
