"even working at McDonalds" says a headteacher on @bbcwm. Adding some classism to the unacceptable sexism girls are experiencing at Beacon Hill. Absolutely nothing wrong with working at McDonalds.
Doing some light reading at @BabyAidBrum today, and learning how the cost of living is affecting not just their services users but has also decimated how many businesses can afford to donate essentials like nappies and formula.
Planning an official unveiling of the rainbow box @Heidi_Murphy_ and I painted on Stirchley high street once we set a date to do the next, but very pleased with how this turned out. Thanks Virgin for permission and @marylockelabour & @BhamCityCouncil for funding the paint.
Look who's back!
It was great to speak at the unveiling of Ozzy at New St Station this morning. I'm delighted that @BhamCityCouncil worked with partners to find a fantastic new home for our beloved bull.
Darting between downpours, it was nice to make a start on decorating some street cabinets in Stirchley. This box is at the heart of the high street and when its finished, a 6 colour Pride rainbow will sit on a blue, pink and white sky. π³οΈββ§οΈ
This world cup is quickly becoming about Brum pub food. Thanks @FulltotheBrum for treating me to an Irish breakfast and tolerating all my Scottish curmudgeon noises during that England penalty/penalties.
If you need me for the next few weeks I will be in @bournbrookinn watching #FIFAWWC and kidding myself that any work is getting done before the whistle. #BeyondGreatness
At my local train station, neither next train display screen is working and there's no train times on the station. I've also seen 3 out of service help points. Closing ticket offices prevents folk who need these services from independent travel.
The benefit of a staffed ticket office cannot be measured in ticket sales. Staff make train stations more accessible, they support digitally excluded communities with route planning, and they are irreplaceable assets when there are delays/issues.
Driving in Brum feels like it's got so much more reckless lately.
The day after the accident in KH, a driver drift through the red light on his phone as I was about to cross, and 30s later a different car ran over a traffic cone and just dragged it along
The demonstration today was in response to very recent tragic and wholly preventable incidents. There were strong emotions, as there should be.
The vast majority of people; attendees, passers by, and drivers, are united in our call for safer streets.
Road danger affects us all

Thanks to @David4BKH for inviting me to @BirminghamCivic's unveiling of their new plaque for Theresa Stewart. David was instrumental in petitioning for the plaque to commemorate Theresa, the first (and currently only) female leader of @BhamCityCouncil
@Heidi_Murphy_ @tamashatheatre Hi Heidi. It was actually only here for one-night only, but there's still time around the UK at @LivEveryPlay and @northernstage π«ππ
I think you've still got time to go see STARS at @TheOldRep until Saturday. It made me laugh, it punched me squarely in the gut and then made me laugh again with an ending I never saw coming. Go see it if you can!
