Back in 1978, a mathematician named Jim Simons left academia to trade currencies.
A decade later, he launched the Medallion Fund.
It would go on to become the most successful investment fund in history.
Not one of the best.
The best.
For over two decades, it averaged roughly 66% annual returns.
During the 2008 financial crisis, while firms were collapsing, Medallion returned over 100%.
The obvious question is…
How?
Jim Simons wasn’t predicting markets.
He wasn’t drawing trendlines or trying to guess where price would go next.
He built models that searched for tiny statistical edges and executed them over and over again.
The edge wasn’t massive.
The consistency was.
That’s the lesson every trader should take from Jim.
Profitability isn’t about having a 100% win rate.
It’s about finding an edge, protecting your risk, and giving probability enough trades to do what it’s designed to do.
The biggest difference between profitable and unprofitable traders usually isn’t the strategy.
It’s the consistency with which they execute that strategy.
Another year older, another year wiser.
Grateful for every lesson, every setback, every win, and every blessing. Here’s to bigger dreams, greater achievements, and becoming the best version of myself.
Happy Birthday to me. 🎉🎂❤️
