To be clear about what this depicts: An immigration officer threw a woman onto the ground. Alex Pretti, a registered nurse on scene as a legal observer, is filming and goes to help the woman up. He is then pepper sprayed and thrown to the ground for no discernible reason. Many officer surround and assault him; one removes his firearm, which police say appears to have been legally registered. They then execute him with a hail of bullets.
They are, objectively speaking, both cowards and criminals, while Pretti is what we teach people an American ought to be.
I warn folks here not to watch if you aren’t prepared.
But the second video really does show how this really played out. He was filming. They pepper sprayed him without cause, tackled him, and then executed him.
Then they lied about it and confiscated witness phones to try to cover this up.
There is no other way to see this.

@JoeBiden I thank you for your decades of humble service and fast heart, and commitment to this country. You have been a fantastic president, and your decision to step aside with dignity shows you put the country first. It’s time to gather all our forces to defeat trump’s pestilence.
Fourteen years ago today, I signed the Affordable Care Act into law.
Afterwards, one Republican member of the House called the ACA the “most dangerous piece of legislation ever passed in Congress.” Another predicted the country would “never recover from it.”
But then something else happened: it actually worked.
In January 1960, white jazz pianist Dave Brubeck canceled a twenty-five-date tour of colleges and universities across the American South after twenty-two schools had refused to allow his black bassist, Eugene Wright, to perform.

Today’s Right has embraced America First from 1940, McCarthyism from 1950, states’ rights from the 1950s, and conspiracy theorizing from the early 1960s. Rejecting these made American conservatism reasonable. The return to them makes the Right indefensible once again today.
