The first full-length Metal Massacre compilation was released by Metal Blade Records, helping launch a new generation of heavy metal bands.
The original pressing featured then-unknown acts including Cirith Ungol, Steeler, Malice, and Metallica — whose name was famously misspelled as “Mettallica” on the release.
A landmark album that helped shape the future of metal and introduced the world to some of its biggest names.
