This is Katerine Theodosis, a parachuted Labor candidate for Essendon, and a classic example of everything wrong with Labor's rotten union-infested machine.

The current MP for Essendon is Danny Pearson. He announced in April 2026 that he would resign at the end of his term, which NORMALLY would mean Labor holds a proper internal vote allowing local branch members to democratically choose their candidate.

But the unions who control Labor, particularly the AWU, had other plans and pushed hard to install this frontwomann (who isn't a local to the area). Labor members in the area wanted a fair vote and a candidate who actually understands them, but the machine overruled them. Media reported locals who were members of the Labor party being furious in leaked WhatsApp messages, highlighting the deep resentment, yet this is Labor where the unions really rule. The preselection descended into a procedural farce reaching the highest levels, with Jacinta Allan involved in efforts to push Katerine through despite the backlash. The union demanded their pick, didn't care what local Labor members wanted, and just wanted a compliant bureaucrat who would do as she's told.

Thanks to the union, Katerine Theodosis emerged as the endorsed candidate, leaving Labor voters with another disconnected hack instead of real local representation. It's the same tired entitlement that treats safe seats like union property.

If you live in Essendon, you can vote for actual change in November, or a corrupt girl who Labor members didn't want that will do whatever the union tells her to.
