In the end I think our difference just boils down to our views on determinism. Of course the struggle which you take on by making the decision is undoubtedly real, but just because you are equipped to handle such a decision genetically does not mean that everyone else is. Quite insane how good the price/performance is on Chinese gaming products at the moment, prime era to ditch the overpriced "brand" bullshit in EU/US. What we used to pay premium for in terms of support and good returns is almost non existent today in EU

Realistically it is easier for me to feel that way since I have sampled and stolen vocals all my life, the step to generate samples is fairly small when you have no sense of pride

I think AI has use in music for sample creation and brainstorming usage, but tools still need to be refined to be more useful for new artists.

AI has indeed lowered my monthly income from music, but there's no point in being bitter about it.

@tektheist Just by sharing your creative work you already have more to offer than most people, forgiving yourself might take a bit longer but own the decisions you have made (even the terrible ones). Isolation, mental or physical can also be temporary and sometimes needed for creatives

@tektheist I have felt that way too many times, and I have also destroyed both relationships and opportunities but in the end everything will always be alright. Being obsessed about making something "new/original" just ends up driving you into a corner too
