A government who doesn't like it when people say institutional racism exists appointed a panel of people who don't believe institutional racism exists, and they've produced a report which argues that institutional racism doesn't exist.
Let's be real, nothing would be happening in Bristol were it not for police attacking the vigil for Sarah Everard last weekend, or the government trying to push through a bill which restricts civil liberties.
You don't keep the peace by clamping down on peaceful protest.
If the government attempts to criminalise peaceful protest, and police are set on women at a vigil, the scenes tonight in Bristol become an inevitability.
"No justice, no peace" isn't best understood as a threat, but as a statement of the glaringly obvious.
Please donate to #ReclaimTheStreets crowdfunder. They're raising £320k for women's causes: £10K for every proposed fine for the 32 vigils originally scheduled.

We aren’t just lighting a candle for the women we’ve lost: we have been inspired by the women who have reached out and hope this is just the start of a movement that will light a fire for change. #ReclaimTheseStreets
This evening at 9:30pm we will be joining people around the country in a doorstep vigil, standing on our doorsteps and shining a light – a candle, a torch, a phone – to remember Sarah Everard and all women affected by and lost to violence. #ReclaimTheseStreets
This list takes @jessphillips 5 mins to read. I tallied 118 women and 4 children.
According to @FemicideCensus, on average a woman is killed by a man every 3 days.
It could have been and could be any of our names on that list and it needs to stop. #SarahEverard
