Reluctant campaigner. But people keep doing stupid stuff. 😐 Protesting conversion of food crops on good farmland to solar and I really shouldn’t need to.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Environmental Protection Agency on Thursday terminated a $7 billion grant program that was intended to help pay for residential solar projects for more than 900,000 lower-income U.S. households.
More wildlife harassment in my own greenhouse.
The pot is right in the middle of my work zone and the echeveria is supposed to be potted on for the fete.

What would also be helpful is if we refused planning for #solar on sustainably irrigated land, such as https://t.co/zcxEHsAeco, which has taken 100 acres of food-producing #farmland in droughty #Essex that has been irrigated by winter abstraction since the 70s.
“After warnings of thunderstorms at the start of the month, this switch to hot, dry weather reinforces just how urgently we need long-term planning and investment in water resilience.

Third family of the season in what for the past few years has been the ‘kestrel’ box, so this is the soundtrack of much of my day.
But I’ve found that baby kestrels are very nosy and shut up and stare if you talk nonsense to them…

Everything about how we discuss the climate crisis is wrong. I just heard a radio journalist talk about protecting ‘the environment’. It’s not the environment, it’s us. It’s our survival. The whole planet. We know what happens when carbon dioxide goes up: https://t.co/yTRLuXMClg
Charlie Ireland (agronomist who appears in Clarkson’s Farm) points out the actual economic facts regarding the huge financial jeopardy placed on family farms because of the Labour government’s inheritance tax.

This is so obviously the wrong way to do what would otherwise be a brilliant thing that it’s still incredible to me that this is the primary way the UK wants to do solar. 🤯
Plans to build the UK’s largest solar farm (2,400-acres) in Oxfordshire have been submitted to the Planning Inspectorate.
This is wrong. Instead of developing solar panels on prime farmland, put them on brownfield land, roofs or car parks instead.
