I found some lovely photos of @JayMcGuiness with his fellow Pilgrimage companion @HelenLederer at the King’s Trust 50th Anniversary Celebration 📸👩🏼🧔🏻♂️🌟
The images of Jay would make a great portrait study of him for me to paint in my sketchbook at some point 👍🏻👍🏻
Ernst Lederer, is believed to have done more than just listen to the conversations of captured German generals and POWs during WW2.
Originally from the Sudetenland, he was also used as a stool pigeon.
Dressed in a German officer’s uniform, Lederer was one of nearly 50 men - many of them also refugees - who posed as prisoners and helped loosen the captives’ tongues! @HelenLederer
Oh, my days... I sound about ten years old here - talking about quantum physics with @GraemeGarden1 and Tom Sutcliffe @BBCRadio4@BBCSounds ...

oee I love a handwritten recommendation because then you know it’s genuine - very uplifting on a sunny day
Thank you @WaterstonesLPL & @TheMirrorBooks
“A genuinely funny memoir with lots of heart (and just the right amount of bitterness). Lederer pulls no punches, but every blow is wrapped in a laugh of recognition. Sweet, sour, laugh-out-loud and addictive”
A wonderful recommendation for @HelenLederer in @WaterstonesLPL!
February has proved a challenge but thank the lunar - good news -year of fire horse is with us - intensity ahead with potential chaos - which sounds diverting
