Rainfall across the Sahel is looking generally positive, with the exception of Sikasso in Mali. Rains have been picking up slowly in the area showing a mediocre start to the growing season. This should be followed closely- Sikasso is the most important agricultural region in Mali

Riddle me this (thread): lately scrolling American social media, I see #farming idealized as a viable alternative to happiness and material security. This doesn’t sit right for a few reasons: 1) this is not true for most smallholder #farmers in the developing world…

3) to farm in America today is… not easy. The barriers to entry are immense, to farm in America and survive comes from a place of privilege. It’s not accessible for the average person.
